How to Purify Tap Water in Your Home

The A.P. National Investigative Team recently unveiled their study of drugs in tap water. It was a shock to most people when the study found prescription drugs in all major cities water supplies. Waste water is treated before it is discharged into rivers and lakes. Water is taken from these rivers and lakes and cleaned again at drinking water treatment plants and then piped to customers. Unfortunately the presence of so many drugs in our drinking water is worrying scientists about the long-term consequences to human health.

Traces of drugs in drinking water have been found in almost all major cities.

Officials in Philadelphia found 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in drinking water that had been treated.
Anti-anxiety medication was detected in treated drinking water for 18.5 million people in Southern California. A sex hormone was found in San Francisco’s drinking water, and water in Washington D.C. tested positive for six pharmaceuticals.
